Acton will be looking to go one better than the three league wins last Saturday this coming weekend. In addition, the 1st XI host Uxbridge C.C in the Middlesex Cup on Sunday and we have enough availabilities for a Sunday 2nd XI (for which we are still looking for an opposition).
The under 10s hosted Chiswick for the first game of the season following rain the previous week. Captain Toby lost the toss and the Mini Acorns went out to bat on a lovely day and good batting pitch. Frankie and Gilly opened the batting against the best of the Chiswick bowling and batted sensibly, only losing one wicket between them and seeing off the new ball for the next pairs. Toby played a supporting role to Oscar P in the next pair, rotating the strike allowing Oscar to hit boundaries and accelerate the score past 240. Lewi and Oscar S came in and despite both losing their wickets early, then grew in confidence and batted very sensibly. After taking off -5 runs for each of the wickets lost, Chiswick would require 247 to win.
This week we have a match report from the U11's visit to South Hampstead from our very own U11 Jasper "I love playing for Acton" Pryce Jones. Excellent stuff Jasper, and hopefully we'll have a few more young contributors during the season!
Coach Markโs match report from the U12โs 10 wicket win vs. Brentham.

With such strong availabilities this was a very, very tough selection meeting for the captains. If you were available and not selected, keep working hard and force your way in to a side next weekend. The captains' doors are always open if you would like to discuss anything and the Committee's message is just to be patient and lots of opportunities will come. We have six very strong sides out over the Bank Holiday weekend โ letโs keep up this level of commitment and availability throughout the season!
In addition to Saturdayโs league fixtures, on Sunday the TSSL campaign kicks off at Whitley Village on Monday the 1st XI have the round robin stage of the Middlesex T20 at Twickenham C.C., with a clash against Premier League Teddington in the first round. The teams are belowโฆ.
