U11s vs South Hampstead match report
This week we have a match report from the U11's visit to South Hampstead from our very own U11 Jasper "I love playing for Acton" Pryce Jones. Excellent stuff Jasper, and hopefully we'll have a few more young contributors during the season!
Match Report: South Hampstead v Acton
Acton played their first u/11s match of the season against South Hampstead, with the match against Osterley previously rained off. On a hot morning, we played very well winning comfortably by 59 runs. Acton batted first and scored 151-2 with South Hampstead managing 92-6.
We batted excellently, following an unfortunate quick wicket. There was a great partnership between Henry Turner and Louis Bonetti, scoring 81 runs together with Louis scoring 30 and Henry retiring on 50 – a brilliant innings from him. Luke Shenley and Elliot Northam provided a late innings flourish, Luke scoring 26 not out and Elliot 14 not out.
We bowled and fielded well with some great bowling figures from Fred Websper – 3-12 and Seb Vidal - 2-13. Olly Pryce-Jones (an u/10s player) also got his first u/11s wicket – his two overs went for figures of 1-10.
The stand out fielder was Aidan Hincks. He stopped the boundary and threw with power and accuracy. There was also great teamwork in the fielding – we worked in pairs to get the ball in as fast as we could. Reserve keeper, Jasper Pryce-Jones, had a solid performance, stepping in for Sam Francombe and only conceding one bye.
On Tuesday we have Ealing, which is always a tough match.
