Match report: U11s beat Ealing
U11s Match Report: Ealing
Acton played their second u/11s game of the season against Ealing on Tuesday evening at home. It was a great win for the team, with Acton batting first and scored 152-3 from their 20 overs. In the face of some excellent bowling Ealing managed to score just 71 all out, having been 26 for 8 at one stage.
A fantastic performance with the bat saw us get to 152 with great performances from Henry Turner – 23, Louis Bonetti – 21, Luke Shenley – 33 not out, and Tayyab Malik – 20 not out. The running between the wickets was excellent and we restricted their bowlers from finding any rhythm.
There was an incredible performance with the ball that saw Ealing plummet to 71 all out. Jasper Pryce-Jones and Louis Bonetti opened the bowling and got Ealing to 7-5 at the end of their spells. They were backed up by Luke Shenley and Henry Gill who took 1-10 and the latter 2-11. Jasper ended up with 3-11 and Louis took 2-6.
The fielding was sharp in the first ten overs with good performances from Aidan Hincks and Tayyab Malik. Tayyab always always stopped the boundary and he saved a lot of runs in the field.
In the remaining 6 overs we slacked off, thinking the game was won. It is important that we keep playing our best until the end.
Next up is Chiswick away on 18th May.
